FranklinWH

FranklinWH makes the aPower 2, an AC coupled home battery built on lithium iron phosphate cells. It stores solar and grid energy for time of use savings and backup, and scales to whole home capacity.

The FranklinWH aPower 2 is an AC coupled home battery with 15 kWh of usable energy per unit. It uses lithium iron phosphate cells and delivers 10 kW of continuous power. FranklinWH backs it with a 15 year or 60 MWh throughput warranty.

Energy Capacity and Power

FranklinWH rates the aPower 2 at 15 kWh of usable AC energy per unit. The system scales up to 225 kWh using 15 units per aGate controller.

The battery delivers a maximum of 10 kW continuous power and a 15 kW peak for 10 seconds. It accepts a maximum charge power of 8 kW and uses lithium iron phosphate cell chemistry.

Efficiency and Warranty

FranklinWH lists a round trip efficiency of 90 percent for the aPower 2 from grid to battery to load. The battery operates at a nominal AC voltage of 120 and 240 volts.

FranklinWH warrants the aPower 2 for 15 years or 60 MWh of aggregate throughput, whichever comes first. The system is AC coupled, which lets it pair with existing solar arrays.
