Enphase makes IQ8 microinverters, module-level power electronics that convert DC to AC at each panel. The IQ8 line is the industry's first microgrid-forming, software-defined microinverter series.

The Enphase IQ8 and IQ8+ are residential microinverters that convert DC power to AC at the module. They are microgrid-forming and can produce power even when the grid is down. Enphase backs them with a long limited warranty.

Output and Efficiency

The IQ8 microinverter delivers 245 VA of peak output power. The IQ8+ steps up to 300 VA of peak output power. Both run on a 240-volt split-phase nominal grid voltage at 60 hertz.

Both the IQ8 and IQ8+ hold a CEC weighted efficiency of 97 percent. The IQ8 pairs with modules from 235 to 350 watts, and the IQ8+ pairs with modules from 235 to 440 watts. The units carry a maximum module short-circuit current rating of 20 amps.

Reliability and Warranty

Enphase covers the IQ8 series with an industry-leading limited warranty of up to 25 years. The units have logged more than one million cumulative hours of testing. They ship in a Class II double-insulated enclosure.

The IQ8 microinverters are microgrid-forming and produce power even when the grid is down. They receive remote automatic updates for the latest grid requirements. The design meets CA Rule 21 and IEEE 1547:2018 standards.
